Singer-songwriter Tyler Dumontdoesn’t hold back in her “Who Is Tyler Dumont?”, docu-bio film by Emmanuel Escarraman which Tylerexecutive produced. In the footage, she shares an intimate portrait of her life and the realities that artists face every day in the pursuit of art, “the drive, sacrifice, loss, hunger, pain, and even feeling of hopelessness,” that she explains are all part of realizing the dream. Although the former reality show cast member describes herself as “just an ordinary girl who figured out her dream pretty early on,” there’s something extraordinary about a girl who is picked out of 60,000 hopefuls who chooses family over fame. Tyler started out on MTV as a finalist of Diddy’s Making of The Band 3and ended up leaving during season 1 to care for her mother who was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

In his famous poem, “Harlem,” Langston Hughes asks, what happens to a dream deferred? For Tyler, the ‘dream deferred’ will be realized with the release of her debut project, Nomadic Behavior. Finally, back to making music, Tyler’s journey began again with rediscovering who she is as an artist and finding her sound, “Growing up I had so many insecurities, I didn’t know who I was, but I knew that music would be a part of my life,” she shares. Studio sessions recordingNomadic Behaviorrevealed a unique signature sound, “I’ve always been that sensual and slow-tempo kind of artist and during those sessions, I explored my lower tones and discovered a sound that’s totally me – mysterious, playful, and almost a little riskee.”

The atmospheric and sultry first single, “Don’t Mean It,” produced by SwanQo captures the fiery tension that occurs in relationships when you’ve said things you don’t mean to the one you love. The intensity of the lyrics come to life in the music video’s dramatic scenes portrayed by Tyler and actor,“Don’t Mean It” is a passionate song about the things you’ve said during a heated argument that you wish you could take back,” shares Tyler. “What’s more real in relationships than couples fighting and making up!”
